Before you can submit jobs to the EGEE grid you need to complete several steps. This article will outline these steps and provide links to more in-depth technical guidelines.

The necessary steps are as follows:

1. Obtain a certificate signed by one of the Trusted Certification Authorities The UK e-Science Certification Authority is available from this link. Your relevant Certification Authority should provide you with documentation on how to apply for, receive and use a certificate.
   
2. Become a member of a Virtual Organization that is trusted by EGEE. For more information see this list of VOs. Please Note: You must have the aforementioned trusted certificate imported into the browser that you are currently using in order to open the link. 3. Once the above steps are complete you may start submitting jobs to the EGEE grid - either via a portal or directly.
