IntroductionThe accounting service, comprised of a data collection and reporting services, is a large centralised database which collects and aggregates cpu usage information from compute sites across the grid.
CPU Accounting
APEL is a log processing application which is used to interpret system log files to produce accounting records for jobs which consume
CPU resources on the EGEE/WLCG grid. APEL Accounting
Storage Accounting
Information about the storage resources at EGEE/WLCG sites is gathered from a top level BDII and inserted into a MySQL database.
The BDII information is derived from the GIP plugis that are shipped with the variety of storage elements on offer (DPM, dCache and CASTOR).
The data for each site and VO can be aggregated to form anonymous summaries. Unlike CPU accounting, the storage information is very high-level and entirely anonymous.
Storage Accounting Portal
CPU Accounting Portal (CESGA)
The CESGA accounting portal provides a front-end view of published CPU resources that have been aggregated into summaries. These summaries may viewed per Site, per VO, per ROC, per Tier1 / Tier2.
